Most Common
Residential
$50base pickup

A single base fee for one residence covers your whole load. If it plugs in or runs on a battery, we’ll take it. Only TVs and monitors add a surcharge (below).

Neighborhood & Complex Bundle
$45per residence

When 10+ households schedule together at one location: a cul-de-sac, condo, or apartment complex.

Business & Commercial
Customquote

Offices, schools & bulk volume, priced per job. Certificate of Recycling available on request.

Pickups also include a travel fee of $0.65 per mile (the standard commercial mileage rate) based on your distance from our Boulder base. We confirm your final price before pickup, and pass on facility-rate savings as we secure them.

Add-Ons & Fees

TV & Monitor Surcharge: +$22 Flat-Screen / +$40 CRT

Covers certified hazardous-glass handling: +$22 per flat-screen TV or monitor, and +$40 per CRT, tube, or rear-projection TV. All other waste in your pickup is included in the base fee.

?Doing it yourself, a junk hauler, or us: How It Compares+

You can drop off your waste yourself at CHaRM. However, we’re here to fill the gap for everyone who’d rather keep the afternoon, skip the line, and have data wiping and resale or donation (if needed) handled in the same stop. It also takes away the worry of hunting for the best-priced general junk service, which most of the time can’t securely wipe your data if you need it, because they don’t specialize in e-waste.

Take a common pickup: an old flat-screen TV, a couple of laptops, and a box of cables and phones.

Example Pickup:
Do it yourself
~$25–$35+ plus a small facility fee: drop-off centers bill flat-screens by the pound (CHaRM is about $0.59/lb). Then it’s your afternoon: load the car, drive across town, wait in line, sort, and haul the heavy TV yourself. Want data wiped? That’s a separate trip or fee. Anything still working loses its resale value unless you list it.
A general junk & waste hauler
~$100–150: most charge a bulky-pickup minimum, don’t specialize in certified e-waste recycling, and won’t wipe your data or rehome electronics with refurbishment potential.
With Juett Tech Rescue
$72: the $50 base pickup plus the $22 flat-screen TV, at your door in an evening or weekend slot. Hauling, sorting, secure data wiping, and refurbishing or donating anything that still works are all built in. One price, one stop, zero of your time.
Juett Tech Rescue is priced well under general junk haulers: you never have to load and haul anything across town or run a separate errand to wipe your data, and anything still working can get a second life. We also donate a portion of all profits to the Basel Action Network. The difference: a little more in cost than doing every step yourself, for your afternoon back and everything handled in one place.

What certified data destruction costs around here

Wiping a drive on your own usually means its own trip or a business minimum. For comparison:

Shredding Services (Boulder & Denver)
$12–$20 per drive, often with a minimum or a separate trip. On-site “come-to-you” destruction runs 20–30% more.
With Juett Tech Rescue
$15 per device, done during your pickup — no separate trip, no minimum, Certificate of Data Destruction on request.

Secure Data Wiping: $15 per device

When needed, we’ll securely wipe hard drives, factory-reset devices, or physically destroy storage that can’t be reliably wiped, before anything is recycled, resold, or donated. The fee is $15 per device wiped.

?How we keep your data secure+

Protecting your data is a core part of every pickup. We follow the data sanitization guidelines in NIST Special Publication 800-88, and we match the method to the device so your information is always made unreadable:

Phones, tablets & modern computers: These encrypt your data by default. We perform a factory reset, which destroys the encryption key and makes the stored data unrecoverable.

Hard drives: We connect the drive directly and run a secure overwrite that erases the data so it cannot be recovered.

Storage that can’t be reliably wiped: When a device cannot be securely erased, we physically destroy the storage media instead.

Every device is either securely wiped or physically destroyed before it is recycled, resold, or donated. Nothing leaves our hands with your data still on it.

Want proof? A Certificate of Data Destruction is available on request for any pickup.

What We Take

If it plugs in or runs on a battery, we’ll take it. A sample of what we accept:

Resale or Donation Option: Some Tech Is Worth More Than Recycling

A few of the items we pick up still hold real value. I work with a partnered CU student to refurbish eligible electronics, alongside certified recycling and reuse partners across the community. For select high-demand items (newer phones, working laptops and MacBooks, gaming consoles, and smartwatches), you can choose to have us refurbish your device and then either resell it and share the proceeds with you, or donate it back into the community through one of our certified partners, instead of sending it straight to recycling.

Either way, every device is securely wiped or destroyed first. This is completely optional and offered only on eligible items. Everything else we collect is recycled responsibly through our certified processing partner. Nothing we pick up ends up in a landfill.

Have other tech that's still in good, working condition with real refurbishment potential? Mention it when you book and we'll see what we can do.

Eligibility, payout, and full terms are confirmed in your pickup agreement before any item is resold or donated.

Pickup Capacity

We fit as much as we can hold in our company vehicle โ€” rear seats folded flat gives us 59.8 cu ft of cargo space (~42” wide × 38” deep × 27” tall). If it all fits, we take it in one trip โ€” if not, an additional pickup may be scheduled.

Example Pickup
  • 1 large flat-screen TV (up to 55”)
  • 1 desktop tower & monitor
  • 2–3 laptops or a box of smaller devices
  • A printer or small appliance
  • A bag/box of cables, chargers & accessories

Not sure if your haul fits? Just mention it in the pickup form or contact us, and we’ll let you know before we head over.

About the Founder
Hi, I'm Natalie (Chief Rescue Officer)
Natalie
20 Years Old · Born in Dallas, TX

I am a rising junior at CU Boulder studying economics and political science. During my first semester of sophomore year, I took an Environmental Sustainability and Features course, where I learned about the serious effects of e-waste on our environment when electronics are disposed of improperly.

After researching what options existed in Boulder, I found a real gap. People are left choosing between hauling all their e-waste to a drop-off facility themselves and paying processing fees, or searching to find the best-priced general junk management service that doesn't even specialize in e-waste recycling to come pick it up. I started Juett Tech Rescue to fill that gap: a simple, transparently priced pickup with certified e-waste recycling, and electronics with refurbishment potential refurbished, resold, or donated instead of shredded, built for Boulder residents. We are proud to be the only waste management service in Boulder focusing specifically on electronic waste management.

Everything we do is transparently and fairly priced, and it's built to handle the whole process in one go. If it runs on a battery or plugs in, we pick it up, securely wipe any data that needs wiping, and take everything to a certified processing facility.

Electronics with refurbishment potential are restored and then donated or resold, your choice. Choosing resale puts a little money back in your pocket and takes the hassle of repairing and reselling off your hands. We do this through a network of local partners: small shops, individual technicians, and trusted vendors. One is a fellow CU Boulder computer science student who refurbishes electronics as our head restoration technician; another is a former CU professor who helps refurbish and rehome old laptops. We also work with local pawn shops and online resale partners to get each item to its best second home.

The facts are striking: the world generates over 50 million metric tons of electronic waste every year, making it the fastest-growing solid waste stream on the planet. According to the Global E-Waste Monitor 2024, only 22.3% of e-waste is formally recycled globally. When electronics end up in landfills, toxic materials such as lead, mercury, and cadmium leach into the soil and groundwater, posing serious risks to both human health and local ecosystems. The World Health Organization has identified improper e-waste disposal as a growing public health concern, particularly for communities near informal recycling sites. At the same time, rare and valuable metals like gold, silver, and cobalt are permanently lost rather than being recovered and reused.

The goal of this business is to make electronic waste recycling accessible for Boulder County residents by tackling the issue head-on and closing the gap in convenience and affordability. I am also committed to giving back: a percentage of profits from every pickup is donated to Basel Action Network (BAN), a nonprofit dedicated to fighting illegal e-waste dumping and advocating for responsible recycling worldwide.

Did You Know?

Humanity produces more than 62 million metric tons of e-waste every year. That is enough to fill over 1.5 million heavy trucks, a bumper-to-bumper line long enough to circle the equator.
